Going to Macworld SF?
I'll be demoing in the Macromedia booth after 2PM this Tuesday through Friday,
during the conference. Stop by and say hello!
Radiskull & Devil Doll Comic book, now a SERIES.
No longer just a test issue! It looks like the first
R&DD comic did well enough to warrant a real series. Issue
#1 is out (the second comic so far) with #2 coming soon.

Macromedia.com is running a little
tutorial I wrote on Director MX. Check out a rough
version of PART 2 in the series. I'm working on it now, and would
love to hear feedback from Director people.

I'm working on a variety of bread-winning projects. Unfortunately, this has
slowed down progress on my little cartoon shows. I should be back up to speed
on Dicky & Jackie Episode 1 + Radiskull & Devil Doll Episode 9 later
this month.

6PM on Sunday, August 25th, 2002, on Bay Arean channel 36 / cable
channel 6. They stopped by my offic with their giant camera and taped
me rambling on about how great Flash is and how cool it is to be able
to publish cartoon animation on the web

What's the DJ Status, Dude?
Very good. I'm a little late on episode 1 of DJ. But it is fairly
massive, with several songlets in it, and an assortment of interesting
characters. Somehow, this has become a more ambitious project than
Radiskull ever was.
So what happened to Radiskull & Devil Doll?
I have not worked on R & DD for many months. I lost my job with
AtomShockwave last summer, along with most of the company. I was an
employee when I created R & DD, so the show is owned by AtomShockwave.
Unfortunately, despite the good efforts of a couple of people at AtomShockwave,
I have not been successful at working out something that would enable
me to continue the show. ...MORE

So what happened to Radiskull &
Devil Doll? Perhaps you have noticed that the official Radiskull
site has not been updated since June of last year? I lost my job with
AtomShockwave last summer, along with most of the company... did you
send email in the past year to jsparks@shockwave.com? If so, i did
not get the email... stay tuned for more on the Radiskull situation,
I will write more about it soon.

+ HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Should I do my own workshop?! I like sharing all my tips
and tricks with an interested audience, and the feedback so far has
been very positive. Now, I am thinking of putting on my own little
creative animation seminar in San Francisco. Of course, I'm hoping
that I could make a little money doing this. If you would be interested
in attending some kind of day-long workshop with me, please write
to workshop@joesparks.com.
Send suggestions, ask questions, and help me come up with something
worthwhile! If I can gather at least 20 seriously interested people,
I'm sure I could put something together!
Thanks to SFMMUF! On Dec 4th
2001, I spoke for 2 hours on Flash animation at SFMMUF and met many
fine people. The most amazing thing about the night was that Forum
VP Shawna baked hundreds
of beautiful Devil Doll cookies for the whole house, and sent
me home with a nice box of the tasty treats! THANKS SO MUCH! Keep
in touch with these great people HERE.
